Directors | Simon Impey

Simon Impey started his career working for some of London’s most renowned advertising agencies. His work has won awards at D&AD, Cannes, New York Festivals and Dubai Lynx.

Simon moved to the Middle East fifteen years ago. Based in Abu Dhabi, Simon has written and directed commercials, documentaries and corporate films in the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and KSA.

In Abu Dhabi he wrote and directed a viral TVC to launch YAS Mall, which featured the F1 World Champions Infiniti Red Bull Racing Team. Six weeks prior to the mall’s opening the film had gone truly viral with over 1,800,000 hits on YouTube.

In Qatar he directed the documentary ‘A Nobel Profession’ through Resolution Films for Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). The film depicts ‘A Day in the Life’ of several HMC nurses. The film won a Silver at the Cannes Corporate Media and tv Awards in the Marketing & Communications category.  

In Abu Dhabi Simon wrote, creative directed and directed a variety of films for Mubadala Investment Company and Masdar Clean Energy, amongst many others. His film ‘Windows’ for Mubadala was shortlisted at Dubai Lynx.
