Basel Owies is an American director with an MFA in Directing and Film Production from Chapman University. He gained experience in Hollywood, working across film, TV, commercials, music videos, and branded content.

His feature directorial debut, The Barber, starred Scott Glenn and Chris Coy and premiered at the Busan International Film Festival. After moving to Doha, he joined the Doha Film Institute in 2017, where he served as Senior Producer for the Qatari Film Fund, overseeing the development, production, and international festival trajectory of award-winning narrative films.

Today, his work spans documentary, commercial, series and film, with a style defined by cinematic visuals, a strong sense of tone and atmosphere, and an ability to bring emotional depth to branded work. Recent projects include Red Sea Global’s From Source to Soul with Resolution Films and Warner Bros. Discovery, as well as Lusail Circuit’s FIA World Endurance Championship campaign.
